IHOP TO OFFER FREE PANCAKES TO GUESTS NATIONWIDE ON FEBRUARY 5th
NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY TO RAISE MONEY FOR CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK HOSPITALS

Fundraiser Aims to Raise $3 Million to Kick Off Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ 30th Anniversary

Glendale, Calif. – (November 28, 2012) - Batter up, breakfast lovers!  IHOP®, one of America’s most popular family-friendly restaurants, known for “everything you love about breakfast,” will once again invite guests to enjoy free pancakes during National Pancake Day on February 5, 2013, while celebrating Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ 30th Anniversary. On this day, the restaurant chain hopes to raise $3 million as the first national fundraising campaign to kick off the 2013 fundraising year for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

During National Pancake Day, the company’s largest philanthropic event of the year, more than 1,500 IHOP restaurants across the country will invite guests to enjoy a complimentary stack of IHOP’s signature delicious buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Guests will be encouraged to make a voluntary contribution to the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital or other local charities. One hundred percent of the donations will help local charities provide vital equipment, life-saving procedures and critical care for sick and injured children.

This will mark the eighth year that IHOP has held National Pancake Day, which to date has raised more than $10 million dollars for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities. In 2012 alone, IHOP raised more than $3 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other charities.

“Millions of free pancakes served on National Pancake Day mean millions of miracles for those in need,” said Julia Stewart, Interim President, IHOP and CEO of the parent company, DineEquity, Inc. “The concept is simple, but our mission is ambitious; to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. For the past eight years, it has been a pleasure and a privilege for all of us at IHOP to participate in this worthy event, and each year our guests have proved to be incredibly generous, helping us not only reach but surpass our goal. We look forward to continuing that trend this year as we plan to once again flip and serve about 4 million free pancakes for charity.”

Guests visiting participating IHOP restaurants in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals will also have the option to purchase “Miracle Balloons” for $1 and $5 each, throughout the month of January leading into National Pancake Day, with all proceeds going to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Participating restaurants will display the balloons in celebration of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ 30-year anniversary. Those who buy a $5 Miracle Balloon will receive a $5 off discount that can be credited toward their next visit.

Two Rock N' Roll Fathers on a Mission to

On Tuesday, September 28th, the two rock n' roll fathers will return to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, where their children -Sklyar Neil and Pablo Thrailkill Castelaz- were treated.  With renowned physician, Dr. Leo Mascarenhas, who treated both Skylar and Pablo, Neil and Castelaz will speak at this special press conference, along with several special guests.

WHAT:
Neil and Castelaz will honor the memory of their children, as well as all of the young cancer patients currently being treated at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and across the country, while recognizing September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.   The two dads will take this opportunity to announce plans to raise funds and awareness for the charitable foundations they created to fund pediatric research in the fight against childhood diseases.

Neil and Castelaz will then embark on their own respective tours across America to raise further awareness for their foundations.  On the upcoming book tour for his newly release autobiography, Tattoos & Tequila: To Hell & Back With One Of Rock's Most Notorious Frontmen, Neil will talk candidly about Skylar's illness for the first time.  The singer will also be donating proceeds from the sale of the book to the Skylar Neil Foundation, which has already raised more than $2 million dollars for cancer research.  From October 2-21, Castelaz will embark on the second edition of the Pablove Across America cross-country bike tour, which rolls from Seattle to Los Angeles, and has already raised $150,000 in pledged donations to date.  Castelaz and his crew of cyclists will spread awareness and garner support during their 20-day ride down the coast.

Pablove Across America riders need to meet their fund raising goal of $500,000 for pediatric cancer research.  Donors can support individual cyclists, form fund raising teams, or donate to the overall goal at www.pablove.org.

The Skylar Neil Foundation was founded by singer and musician Vince Neil, in honor of his daughter Skylar, who passed away after a long battle with cancer in 1995.  The Skylar Neil Foundation's mission is to honor Skylar by raising money and awareness through unique charitable events and activities it sponsors, and, grant and award the money raised to medical, research, and educational institutions/groups/individuals who are doing breakthrough work to find cures for cancer, AIDS, and other diseases.

The mission of The Pablove Foundation is to fund pediatric cancer research and advances in treatment; educate and empower cancer families; and improve the quality of life for children living with cancer through hospital play, music and arts programs.  Since its founding, Pablove has put together a number of fantastic benefit concerts in Los Angeles, Austin and Milwaukee.  Pablove has visited and contributed to playrooms at Children's hospitals in Arizona, California, Texas and Wisconsin, and has assembled an incredible Scientific Advisory Board to review research grant proposals.  The organization will be hosting an upcoming Wilms' Tumor Symposium to bring together families of patients with the country's brightest pediatric cancer professionals, and is launching the Pablove Shutterbugs program to teach children living with cancer to develop their creative voice through the art of photography.   In Fall 2009, the inaugural Pablove Across America cross-country bike ride raised $250,000, and created worldwide awareness with the participation of cycling champion Lance Armstrong, as captured in this video.  For more information and updated news, visit pablove.org, or Pablove on Facebook and Twitter.

Founded in 1901, Children's Hospital Los Angeles is one of the nation's leading Children's hospitals and is acknowledged worldwide for its leadership in pediatric and adolescent health. Childrens Hospital Los Angeles one of only eight Children's hospitals in the entire nation - and the only children's hospital in the Western United States - ranked in all 10 pediatric specialties in the U.S. News & World Report rankings and named to the magazine's "Honor Roll" of children's hospitals.
