The DC Running Club & David Pinks Foundation Host The 1st Annual “Running 4 Overcoming 5k/10k”

Saturday, April 2, 2011, the David Pinks Foundation and the DC Running Group are partnering to host the Running 4 Overcoming 5k/10k. People from all walks of life will come together to celebrate David Pinks philanthropic achievements! David Pinks Foundation, is David’s 501©3 non-profit organization. As a SURVIVOR of sexual abuse David has made it his mission to help turn other victims into survivors. DPF is a collection of programs (including music clinics, song writing camps, after school arts program) that is geared to give victims of various forms of abuse a healthy method to release their emotions and channel those emotions into something positive.Along with creating amazing music, David's passion lies in helping young men and other abuse survivors. He wants them to know they are not at fault and that magnificence can rise from the ashes of despair. David notes that young African American men tend to be less likely to report abuse. As one of the first to go against this, he hopes to empower others to do the same.
