***MEDIA ALERT***
Actor, Adrian Kali Turner hosts 2nd "Toys for Teens" Holiday Event in Atlanta, GA
Who:
ACT Youth-Ambassador Spokesperson, Adrian Kali Turner (Bad Teacher, iCarly), actor, singer, dancer, writer and entrepreneur
What:
This is ACT's annual holiday "teen party with a purpose" outreach program whereby teens are encouraged to bring joy to the lives of youth that may be less fortunate during the season. Building upon the Toys for Tots national toy drive sponsored by the United States Marine Corps, Toys for Teens focuses exclusively on the needs of children ages 10-17. Many individuals donate toys for small children, but may forget about the numerous tweens and teens that are also in need. ACT aims to put a smile on as many young faces as possible during the most wonderful time of the year.
Your charitable contribution will support the Toys for Teens Outreach Program and that of a local Atlanta foster child who is most often overlooked- the tweens and teens. Let us come together to share with them an experience that so many of us enjoy with our own children and families each year. By doing so, you will help at least 1 of over 7,000 foster youth in Atlanta to:
  • Experience better foster home care and conditions
  • Improve their safety, self-esteem, and stability for a loving & caring family environment
  • Help to rebuild their trust as many may have suffered from abuse, abandonment, and / or neglect
  • Introduce them to the idea and importance of higher learning and education
  • Restore and give them hope for a better future
"I am excited about emceeing this year's 2nd Annual Toys for Teens Holiday Event and helping to raise funds for a worthy cause close to my heart. I have invited a few of my local teen celebrity friends & colleagues to help make this a memorable event for Atlanta's foster youth. Join me, along with ACT in helping to make an impressive difference in Atlanta by supporting this great cause," says Turner.

Turner for the afternoon will be joined along with artists Alix Lapri, Austin McKinnis, D'Andr Jermaine, Gabbie Rae, Glamour (female group), Issa, J. Sweat (Keith Sweat son), DJ Kidd, Leah Lewis, Von Grey as well as other invited celebrity guests.

ABOUT ACADEMY OF CRITICAL THINKING (ACT)
The Academy of Critical Thinking is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with four key program areas of focus that are designed to incite critical thinking, raise awareness, and cultivate community growth. The overall motto is to "Educate, Motivate, Stimulate, and Encourage" community members to participate in youth-focused initiatives. The effort is led by current Youth Ambassador and Spokesperson, Adrian Kali Turner.

Founded in 2010 by Dr. Reginald Turner, The Academy of Critical Thinking (ACT) was designed to serve as a bridge between academia and everyday life by taking the practices of critical thinking, which are commonplace in academic circles, and infusing them into the conversational dialogues of everyday people. The desire then is to invoke critical thinking and awareness of various social issues, complexities, and challenges that may currently exist within our communities in hope for bringing about a collective resolution and change.

The organization's Executive Director is Peter E. Fowler and collectively, they have a firm belief in creating positive and entertaining educational experiences for all children. For this reason, they have launched a number of youth-focused programs that seek to help develop children into becoming motivated, creative and active empathetic beings. Below is a brief description of the Toys for Teens Outreach Program and this year's focus on Atlanta's foster youth.
